Nice To Meet You!
Hey, I’m Lana.
By my mid-twenties, I’ve found myself living several lives in one: an AI-startup’s VP of Engineering by day, entrepreneur and blogger by night, Customer Success Manager for individuals building online businesses and personal brand, an ex-Data Scientist for a big-shot pharmaceutical firm, an SEO/Marketing guru, Volunteer Career Coach for first generation, low income college students, and a Statistical Data Science graduate from the esteemed University of California, Davis.
Wow, that’s quite the headline, isn’t it?
But do those fancy titles give you the real picture of who Lana truly is or what my mission is about?
Let’s hit the pause button on the formalities and get a little cozy.
Here’s the real deal—why I leap out of bed each sunrise and pour every ounce of my passion into this blog. All for you.
Instead of handing you the unabridged chronicles of my life, how about a highlight reel?
Should you find yourself intrigued by my tale, I warmly invite you to stay awhile, explore, and join me on this journey.
It’s not just my story—it’s every bit your story, too, as we’re all navigating this extraordinary life together, one day at a time.

Now For The TMI (Too Much Information)
I grew up on the East Coast of the US.
When I was just 17, I packed my bags and moved across the country to sunny San Diego, California. My goal was to study Computer Science.
Surprise, surprise—a girl in Computer Science. You’re probably as shocked as my classmates were!
A few semesters in, I faced a big challenge—I failed my first class ever, Assembly Language 101. It was a tough blow!
But you know what? That failure was a blessing in disguise. It made me realize that while I enjoyed programming and loved solving problems, I wasn’t so fond of lower-level languages like C++.
That’s when I discovered Data Science—a field that used higher-level programming languages like Python and R. It felt like a perfect fit for me. So, I decided to take a leap of faith.
I packed up my stuff AGAIN, drove 9 hours north to University of California Davis, and switched my major to Statistical Data Science.
The next two years were a grind—I had to work hard to prove myself at this more challenging school.
Then came an internship in Silicon Valley, and a move across the country to NYC for my first job. I worked as a Data Analytics Analyst, focusing on fraud detection.
Next up, I landed a role as the first Data Scientist at Roche, where I built my own department, the Data Insights Unit (DIU), from scratch.
Within less than 3 years, I climbed up to the position of Senior Data Scientist.
Over time, I realized big corporations weren’t really my thing—I enjoyed the thrill of building something from nothing. When a mentor (who had sold his last company to Dell) offered me a chance to be the VP of Engineering at his new AI company, I jumped at the opportunity.
And now, here I am! I’ve got a strong passion for business, entrepreneurship, marketing, and SEO. I’m here to give you, my reader, the best experience and information I possibly can.
My mission is simple. I want to make a positive difference for at least one person with this blog. Just one. And I really hope that’s you.
